Slovak A2 practice test online — how to take it and score it
4 min read

You can take a Slovak A2 practice test online for free. It tells you the most when you do it in one sitting, with a timer and without a dictionary — and then count your points honestly.
Below you will find what the practice test contains, how to take it under exam-like conditions and how to read the result. There is no national exam template, so we also explain what a practice test result cannot tell you.
What the practice test contains
Our practice tests follow the published model test of Studia Academica Slovaca (Faculty of Arts, Comenius University in Bratislava). The figures in the table come from that model test, not from a national rule.
| Module | Tasks | Points | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reading comprehension and grammar | 5 | 25 | 30 minutes |
| Listening comprehension | 4 | 25 | 25 minutes |
| Writing | 2 | 20 | 30 minutes |
| Oral part | not published in the model test | — | — |
In total that is 70 points for the written part and about an hour and a half of work without breaks.
How to take the test so it means something
- Do it in one sitting. In the exam you have no time to revise between modules. If you split the modules over three days, your result will be better than it would be in the exam.
- Time yourself. 30 minutes for reading, 25 for listening, 30 for writing. When the time is up, stop.
- No dictionary or translator. You will not have them in the exam.
- Play the recordings twice, no more. In the exam they are usually played twice.
- Write with diacritics. In the gap-fill tasks the diacritics count.
Start with the first pack of practice tests: reading and grammar, listening, writing, task 1 and task 2.
How to count your points
Reading and listening are marked automatically on this site — you see the result straight away. Writing is assessed by AI, which shows what is missing from your text. The AI assessment is a practice aid, not an official exam result.
Write your points into a simple table:
| Module | Your points | Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| Reading and grammar | … | 25 |
| Listening | … | 25 |
| Writing | … | 20 |
| Total | … | 70 |
What the result means
The exam is passed when the candidate gets at least 70 % of the total points for the written and oral parts together. You cannot measure the oral part objectively at home, so treat the written part as a rough indicator:
- 49 or more out of 70 points (70 %): your written part is at a good level. Keep practising the oral part and your weaker module.
- 35 to 48 points: you have the basics, but the margin is small. Focus on the module where you lost the most.
- Fewer than 35 points: give yourself more time to prepare before you register for the exam.
Watch out for two things. Some centres have a stricter house rule — 70 % in the written part and separately 70 % in the oral part — so read the conditions on your school's website. And because there is no national template, the real test at your centre may look different from our practice test.
What to do after the test
See which module cost you the most points and start there. Tips for each module are in the articles Reading and listening in the A2 exam — 50 points of the written part and Writing in the Slovak A2 exam — two tasks, 20 points. You can practise speaking in an exercise with AI feedback. How the exam is marked is covered in How the Slovak A2 exam is marked — the 70 % rule explained. When you feel ready, also take the second pack — it will show that your result was not a fluke.
Module format according to the model test of Studia Academica Slovaca (fphil.uniba.sk), pass mark according to the guidance (usmernenie) of the Slovak Ministry of Education MŠVVaM SR of 27 October 2025 (minedu.sk). The 35- and 49-point bands are our own rough guide, not an exam rule. We are not an exam centre and do not hold exams. Last checked 22 October 2026.
